“Amazingly good!”
So loved our night at Rachel’s B & B ….wished we could have stayed a lot longer … A special place, quiet, peaceful , tranquil ….so relaxing …stunning views only interrupted by 2 gorgeous Alpacas , equally photogenic !! Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, pillows, towels etc …extremely well appointed …. Loved sitting outside listening to the Tuis in the nearby bush ….unfortunately we had a bit of rain but still loved our visit to the stunning beach …. Extremely good and well recommended …hope to revisit and will certainly be recommending to travelling friends … Well-done Rachael ….  Reviewed for a stay in March 2018 on Trip Advisor – 5 star Excellent

Ruhig, gemütlich und umsorgt!
Sehr persönliche Betreuung durch die Inhaberin ist aussergewöhnlich gut. Sie hat jeden Wunsch erfüllt und sich viel Zeit genommen. Sehr unkompliziert. Sehr ruhig gelegen, einfach zu finden. Tollle Aussicht über Hügel zum Meer. Man fühlt sich zu Hause. Quiet, comfortable and cared for! Very personal care by the owner is exceptionally good. She fulfilled every wish and took a lot of time. “Amazing Location and Outlook near Mahurangi West Regional Park”
We lucked in when we chose this B & B – Rachael was a great host – breakfast just fantastic and it was self contained with separate lounge, toilet and bathroom with everything you could possibly need from picnic pack to beach towels, robes, chocolates on the bed and homemade preserves thrown in.
It is right on the doorstep of the regional park with beautiful beaches, panoramas and walks. Not to mention a short trip drive from the wineries and market and Matakana.

Traumhafte Suite mit Meerblick. Ruhige Lage. 5 Minuten mit dem Auto zum Strand. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieterin. Frühstück der Extraklasse. (Fantastic suite with sea views. Quiet location. 5 minutes by car to the beach. Very friendly and helpful landlady. Breakfast in a class of its own.)

Fantastic B and B with separate bedroom and large living opening onto deck with a magnificent outlook.
Rachael made the best breakfast with homemade pastries, fruit and jams (not to mention the yummy smoothie). The location is excellent – a short drive to Puhoi, Warkworth and Matakana and beautiful walks in the regional park next door. Would stay again and would highly recommend. We stayed here for a night with our 3 children and it was perfect. Really well appointed accommodation, with one of the best breakfasts we’ve had and lots of thoughtful little touches! Our daughter loved helping to feed the alpacas the next morning. Highly recommended and Rachel is a great host!

Beautiful accommodation with breathtaking views front and back of the property.
The breakfast was one of the best we have had in a B&B with thoughtful touches through out the room and was great with our family of 3 little people!

Home away from home
The local beaches are so quite and sheltered – ideal for children and old folks

“Excellent accommodation, fabulous breakfasts and exceptional hosts”
Hill top location provided great views in all directions; the rural setting was peaceful and the accommodations had all the amenities – expresso machine, microwave, wifi – to name a few. Rachel made allowances for our erratic schedule and made sure we were aware of the attractions that were of interest and not necessarily in the guide books. We spent 12 nights there and enjoyed every one!! Reviewed for a stay in April on Trip Advisor – 5 star Excellent

We stayed 2 nights for a birthday treat.
What a beautiful spot, looking out to sea with Rangitoto in the distance.
This was the perfect retreat, in a self-contained suite.
Rachel was warm, friendly and hospitable. Her breakfasts were very special, beautifully presented, and innovative.
The Mahurangi Regional Park is a hidden treasure.
We would highly recommend this idyllic accommodation.

“An absolutely wonderful place”.
Comfortable and with so many things added to make the stay so enjoyable. The views are stunning. Great hosts who are there if you need them. but they leave you alone. “Quiet and great place to chill out:)”
Loved the comfort, scenery and the homely feeling. Well maintained and clean, Wifi access was good. “Toller Ausblick über das Farmland zum Meer”
Nette Gastgeberin. Schlafraum kann vom Wohnzimmer mit Schiebetür getrennt werden. Besonders originell sind die beiden Alpakas, die einen morgens begrüßen und die man füttern darf. “A lovely B&B for a couple.”
We didn’t really think the accommodation was suitable for 2 couples. Having said that, we had a very comfortable stay and would recommend West Wing to any mature couple.Lovely breakfast. A quick message to thank you for a fantastic stay at Mahurangi West Wing 2 weekends ago. I’m on Air B+B, but because we didn’t book via them, it doesn’t look like I can comment on this stay! We loved our stay at your comfy and restful property.
We were impressed by your welcome, and your attention to detail  (bath robe, flowers etc. We loved our amazing breakfasts.
It was the perfect base for our friend’s wedding, and on Sunday afternoon and Monday after we left, we so enjoyed exploring the beaches and coast nearby.

“For my first time using airbnb, Rachel was nothing short of a warm and welcoming host. She was helpful with any queries we had about the area and made sure that our plans for hiking and dining were on track and in the right direction. Places we checked out are the Matakana Market Kitchen, the Honey Center, Ransom Wines and Mahurangi River Winery. The room was great too, with a spectacular uninterrupted view of the park right outside our porch. “Rachel and David were very relaxed and welcoming. Their accommodation is exactly as shown with extra thoughtful touches, like iron, clothes hanging rack, coffee machine, fresh fruit and comfortableseating that made our stay very enjoyable and easy. The spacious room takes in expansive rural and sea views making it quiet and restful after a day of exploring, and the cute faces of the two alpacas that popped up from time to time were a ‘feel good’ bonus for city dwellers.

“Perfect Perfect Perfect!
From the second we arrived we were made to feel like part of the family and nothing was too much trouble. Our son helped to collect fresh eggs and to feed the alpacas and was even presented with special ‘mini-sized’ croissants and pastries at breakfast time. The apartment was exceptionally clean and beautifully presented with everything you could possibly require for a ‘home from home’ stay. “The best place we’ve stayed at in New Zealand
We were looking for a nice quiet place to stay for the last few days on our trip here. Couldn’t have chosen better. The room (suite really) was self-contained, newly and tastefully furnished, and with beautiful sea views in either direction across the peninsular on which the house sits, on the edge of a national park. “My husband and I had a dream stay at Rachel and Dave’s home. The room was comfortable, private, large, and spotless. Each morning a delectable breakfast was delivered with loads of fresh fruit, a few baked goods, and eggs from the family hens. The front and back views were outstanding and while the location was a bit secluded, it didn’t take much time to get to town. There are amazing things to do nearby.
